4th Grade Email Phone: 608-994-2715 WELCOME TO THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR!
"Awesome," is the word I would use to describe 4C.
Week in Review:
Week of:January 6th
Reading: Cause and Effect/ Action& Linking Verbs/Narrative Poems
Phonics: -ed, -ing suffixes
Math: Expanded/Standard Algorithms
Science: Types of Motion
Events in 4th Grade:
1) Students will be able to access www.spellingcity.com where they will be able to take their final tests at the end of the week online. Spelling lists will be printed off at the beginning of each week and students will take home to study.
2) Please know, that I update the online gradebook at the end of each week and you will be able to have access to your child's latest grades and assignment scores. If you need assistance in logging into the online gradebook for the district, please call our main office.
I would like to make the following suggestions of activities to do at home on a nightly basis to insure optimal skill acquisition this school year:
1) Have your child read nightly
Make it fun! Your child can read portion of a story and you can read the other portion of the story.
2) Study addition and subtraction facts nightly
In 2nd grade, students work really hard to become fluent and accurate in their mastery of their addition and subtraction facts to prepare them for learning multiplication and division in 3rd grade. It would be greatly beneficial for students to study addition and subtraction at least 5-10 minutes. They may utilize flashcards and various computer games.
3) Encourage them to ask questions
Please reassure your child that is perfectly fine to ask questions in class when they are having difficulties in completing expected tasks in class. There is a good chance other students may have the same question.
Thank You for giving me the opportunity to teach your child on a daily basis. 3 CH ROCKS!

*Please remember to check your child's assignment notebook nightly.
